The concept of Gaetani Events sparked about a month out from my own wedding. We were working with a modest budget and prioritized spending more towards what was most important to us - food, wine, and a beautiful Tuscan villa that allowed all of our guests to stay together in one place.
I anxiously decided to forgo hiring a wedding planner and took on the project by myself, not fully realizing what I was getting myself into. After countless hours of email exchanges, broken English phone calls, and a 6 hour time difference... my planning came to a close. It was only then that I realized I was missing an essential piece - someone to check-in to let me know that I WAS finished, everything WAS confirmed, and that I no longer had to say “I mean, I think so?” when responding to the “Are you ready?!” questions.
No one prepares you for the emotions you will likely go through in the weeks and days leading up to your wedding. To put it lightly, we had some CURVE BALLS.
Fortunately, somewhere in-between overwhelm and joy, I knew I wanted to continue doing this. I pulled off all the last minute changes with minimal tears and am now the biggest advocate for hiring a wedding planner so you can focus on being present and enjoy your day.
